When I discovered digital photography in 2008, I fell in love with the ease and accessibility of translating the natural beauty and untouched landscapes of Ocracoke Island into images. Living so close to nature fulltime has allowed me opportunities to capture scenes not always available to visitors. The images and products I sell hopefully convey the spirit of the island and natural world of coastal Carolina.
Island Path was created to engage the explorer in all of us to seek experiences beyond the comfort zone of daily life choices. My interest in digital photography has developed in recent years, my original training and education was in counseling, psychotherapy and life coaching. Although I no longer maintain a private psychotherapy practice, I continue as a life coach to guide those looking for more of the life they want. Personal Retreats couched in the remoteness of the island provide distance and perspective for finding new meaning and direction.
My husband Ken, a retired Physician Assistant, and I also share a belief in the world of mind body integrated medicine and healing. For many years I led workshops for stress management and we have incorporated that into modules for healing the healer and treating compassion fatigue.
We are available to customize retreats or workshops.
Thank you for visiting Island Path.
Many Blessings, Ruth Fordon and Ken Debarth
